  • Delivering on time, tangible results

International exploration consulting

I have a broad experience base in exploration consulting, operations and management including oil and gas exploration and development, mineral exploration and geotechnical projects in a variety of different operating environments. Western Canadian basin (Alberta, NEBC, Sask, Montana) , Alberta/BC Foothills, Princeton basin (BC interior), Williston basin (Sask., N. Dakota), Michigan Basin (Ontario, Ohio), Canadian Shield (Manitoba, Sask., NWT), Appalachian basin (Ohio), Southern Permian basin (onshore UK), Rathlin Basin (Northern Ireland), Nile delta, Western desert (Egypt), Llanos basin (Columbia), Central Sumatra, Sunda, Asri, Northeast Java basins (offshore Indonesia).

There are many factors which influence exploration opportunity. Some of the key areas where I can provide an experienced perspective include:

Resource potential

  • Literature review and basin analysis
  • Play concepts, producing analogs
  • Review, evaluation, reprocessing and interpretation of public domain datasets
    • Well data, seismic, gravity, magnetics, satellite imagery
  • Integrated geo-interpretation
  • Exploration program design, geophysical surveys and drilling recommendations

Fiscal and regulatory regime

  • Licensing systems
  • Fiscal terms
  • Planning
  • Environmental permitting
  • Health and safety

Operating environment

  • Stakeholder orientation
  • Service and supply chain
  • Infrastructure

Geotechnical and Environmental Assessment

Identifying and securing sites and access, measuring and recording baseline conditions are key initial steps in any projects lifecycle. I’ve been involved in all aspects of development from site selection thru reclamation.

Site and Environmental assessment

  • Landowner liaison
  • Openhouse presentations
  • Geotechnical evaluation
  • GPR, PPV evaluation and monitoring
  • Archeaological
  • Hydrology, surface drainage, flood risk
  • Hydrogeology, aquifer protection, ground water monitoring
  • Noise and vibration analysis
  • Air quality assessment
  • Visual Impact
  • Ecology, Biodiversity
  • Traffic planning and management
  • Waste management
  • Site security
